Past continuous statements
ساختار:
Subject + was/were + verb + ing + the rest of the sentence
They were playing basketball after school.
بعد از مدرسه داشتند بسکتبال بازی می کردند.
He was eating food.
داشت غذا می خورد.
منفی کردن:
برای منفی کردن کافی است که به were یا was منفی کنندهی not رو اضافه کنیم.
He wasn’t eating food.
داشت غذا نمی خورد.
سوالی کردن:
برای سوالی کردن به نحوه ساخت جمله توجه کنید.

کاربرد گرامر Past continuous statements:
1. بخواهیم در مورد عملی که در گذشته در برهه زمانی خاصی در حال انجام بوده صحبت کنیم.
.I was going cinema at 6 pm yesterday
.دیروز ساعت 6 عصر داشتم به سینما می رفتم.
2. بخواهیم در مورد عملی که در حال انجام بوده اما به وسیله‌ی عملی دیگر قطع شده صحبت کنیم.
.I was watching TV, when you called
من داشتم تلویزیون تماشا می‌کردم که زنگ زدی
They were playing basketball after school.
He was eating food.
The rain was raining tonight.
She wasn’t watching the movie.
They were going to the library.
He was doing a great job.
I was not writing a letter.
My television wasn’t working properly.
We were celebrating a festival.
The teacher was teaching in a class.
The dog was barking a man.
They weren’t studying English these days.
Dona was buying a new iPhone.
She wasn’t coming to the party.
My dad was going to London.
They weren’t speaking English today.
The sun was shining.
I was doing well.
He wasn’t watching a movie for two months.
